Our hand knotted rug collection is created with refined Himalayan wool collected from sheep in the highlands of Nepal, ensuring each rug has an inherent softness and durability. Lustrous natural and bamboo silk can also be added to enhance the texture and add dimension. Our weavers use the Tibetan knotting technique, whereby each new knot is a continuation of the previous one and the start of the next. This style of knot is very well suited to contemporary design and allows for patterns to be easily adapted to different densities. The quality of a knotted rug is measured in knots per square inch and the minimum density required depends entirely on the complexity of the design. The process is meticulous and our skilled weavers complete approximately 16cm per day. Each rug will have hundreds of thousands of knots tied by hand for a unique, one-of-a-kind look.
