At Jennifer Manners Design, we’ve long believed that a rug is never just a rug. It’s a story told in fibre, a tapestry of tradition and innovation that quietly sets the tone of a space.
With SCANDI, our latest collection launching at London Design Week 2025 and at NYCxDesign in our 200 Lex showroom, we bring the warmth, wonder, and wisdom of Scandinavian folk art into contemporary homes.
Inspired by the folkloric traditions of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, SCANDI celebrates the soul of the North—its reverence for nature, its craft heritage, and its comforting simplicity. Every piece is hand-knotted or handwoven with deliberate care, echoing centuries-old techniques while speaking in a distinctly modern voice.
A Journey Through the North
STOCKHOLM
Structured and elegant, the STOCKHOLM rug reimagines the rich decorative arts of Sweden in a formal flat-woven design. Think precision geometry softened by semi-worsted New Zealand wool, creating a textural story that’s as refined as it is tactile.
TULPAN
Tulips bloom in rhythmic, folkloric harmony. TULPAN is a floral ode to Sweden’s cherished national flower, symmetrically arranged in bright, clean colours. It’s a cheerful nod to the way Scandinavians bring the outdoors in—with intention and charm.
OSLO
There’s a rugged poetry in a Norwegian jumper, and our OSLO rug captures just that. A visual knit, woven from our sustainable /re/PURPOSE PERFORMANCE fibres (crafted from recycled water bottles), it’s a piece that embodies resilience, tactility, and the ease of coastal living.
COPENHAGEN
Hygge is woven into the very fibres of this piece. Hand-knotted with whimsical details and playful tassels, COPENHAGEN is crafted in our award-winning /re/PURPOSE yarns, marrying Danish comfort with contemporary elegance.
SVAGGA
Perhaps the most whimsical of the range, SVAGGA draws from the garlands hung across Nordic thresholds. A fruit-and-fir trellis in soft, abrash-dyed blues, it whispers of winter warmth and heritage joy—an understated celebration of nature indoors.
A Thread Between Past and Present
Each rug in the SCANDI collection is a handcrafted homage to the storied traditions of rural artisans who, for generations, embroidered daily life with motifs of joy, hope, and connection. This is folk art reimagined—not as nostalgic pastiche, but as a living, breathing narrative woven with sustainable materials and modern sensibilities.
SCANDI is more than a collection; it’s a quiet rebellion against the fast and the forgettable. It’s for those who understand that design is most powerful when it tells a story worth keeping.
