This August, we’re looking east, to the windswept beauty of Nantucket, where we worked on a coastal project that has brought history and design into perfect harmony.  Curated by Swedish-born, UK-based interior designer Charlotte Save, this quintessentially East Coast project marries seaside chic with timeless design.

With its weathered cedar shingles, salt-kissed sea air, and a lifestyle that balances sailing with soirées, Nantucket offered the perfect canvas for our signature handwoven flatweaves. Designed in close collaboration with both the London and New York teams,  this project exemplifies the synergy between our two studios and the tailored, transatlantic service we’re proud to offer.

The brief began in London, where Charlotte first met with our design team to discuss her vision for the space.  With the project rooted in Nantucket, the baton was naturally passed to our US team.
A visit to our New York showroom followed, where the myriad of more coastal-vibe flatwoven and handwoven collections were further explored in person.

The initial palette was inspired by coastal colours, including navy, wicker, and whites - all refined further during a virtual design session with Charlotte to align on both aesthetic and performance.

As a holiday home, practicality was paramount. Flatweaves made from our /re/PURPOSE PERFORMANCE fibre, woven from recycled water bottles, were selected not only for their sustainability and durability but also for their relaxed elegance, ideal for beachside living.

Charlotte selected designs from our most celebrated patterns (including Scallop and Lucca) and employed classic navy tones throughout for visual cohesion.

While the project was wonderfully straightforward, it underscored the true value of good communication of the overall vision for the project and how the customised rugs contribute to that. Maintaining visibility across designer, client, and vendor ensured every detail was clear - every pom approved, every placement precise. It’s this collaboration across borders and time zones that allows us to bring bespoke design to life, seamlessly.

From London to Nantucket via New York, this project is a celebration of enduring style, considered craftsmanship, and the ease of working with a team that understands both heritage and modernity. Here’s to many more.
