Ikats were first transported to Britain along the Silk Route in the 18th century and have remained a celebrated pattern ever since. It is Sanderson’s iconic
interpretation of the Ikat that gives this rug its appropriate name Niyali, a word thought to have Indian origins, meaning ‘graceful’ - a characteristic certainly reflected in the aquamarine tone of this rug also available in Nantucket Red colourway.
